Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for a BSIS Firearms Permit, applicants must:
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Be a U.S. citizen or have permanent legal status.
- Possess a valid BSIS Guard Card or other qualifying license (e.g., Private Investigator, PPO, Alarm Agent).
- Pass a criminal history background check through the FBI and DOJ.
- Successfully complete the Firearms Assessment to demonstrate judgment and restraint.
- Complete BSIS-approved Power to Arrest and Firearms Training Courses.
